complete site rehaul !

time to scale down.. step away. yeah. over the past year, i’ve been not very fond of being on the internet. like no duh but this time it’s even extended to the smallweb. i suppose part of it is how not very good / stressful irl has been recently but partly, in some ways, i’m just unhappy (in general lol) but like with the entire online space. like beyond the negativity, ai, etc. there’s no more real world / online world separation… from politics to fandom to everything liiiiike.

to be blunt – WAY too many normies now.

tourist is seriously the perfect way to describe these newfans because that is literally what they are. getting into stuff (anime, games) because it’s “in” now. like if you only got into anime in 2020 because of covid i don’t want to hear a single thing you have to say honestly! like having saya no uta userpic and replying “erm :/ isn’t this problematic…” or those tiktok ppl wanting ads on ao3 oh my god bruh

but what’s funny is that i actually feel like i’m too old for this (lol) and it’s pretty interesting to actually (finally?) feel this way. i suppose i have the old internet (and plain old lol) mindset for better or for worse.

and my mindset means i just wanna be on an minimalistic island writing to myself!!! so i revamped the site to be what i want it to be: archive for my yaps. no guestbook, webrings, whatever. i’m gone~

right now, i have the main diary, thoughts (microblog since i’m naaawt using twt anymore), sketchbook (for future gallery maybe idk just a place for old drawings i’m not going to upload elsewhere), and log (media log). i may do a page like i see on other ppl’s site using quartz. it’s like not-notion where i can put all my #secretwip notes and stuff in an easier accessible way than the scribbles in a zillion notepads (both actual notepads and the windows notepad). i dunno how to install it (i mean i understand the instructions i just dunno how to go about it since i’m on leprd and not something like dreamhost) BUT i can always code my own knock off php version i suppooose. thinking how whenever my irl is like crap i always come back to this site. having something i can 100% control is nice lol.

besides site stuff, goals for this year is 1. open commissions (yikes) 2. reach a very specific milestone with #secretwip (double yikes) 3. play more videogames 4. decide if i should rename all my socmed accounts to [indiedevname] 🤔 we’ll seeee
